Personal Style Series: Who Are We If Not Our Signature Jewelry
A little love letter to the sparkling stories we wear every day.
I used to see jewelry as something decorative, an extra touch to finish a look. In some cases that is still true, but over time, the pieces I kept returning to weren’t the trend-led ones or the ones who elevated my outfit. They were the ones that meant something more.
The jewelry I wear now feels less like accessories and more like extensions of myself. My gentle markers of love, loss, growth, and identity. They carry meaning that is deeply personal to me, and each tells the story of who I am. My signature pieces are also a way to keep specific people, places and cherished moments with me, close to my heart.
I don’t own much jewelry anymore, but what I do own, I wear every single day. They are all from the same Swedish brand, Edblad. They’re water-resistant and made from 14k gold. Here are the pieces I never take off, and why they matter to me.
The Letter Pendants
Two small circle charms, engraved with the initials of my siblings. A Christmas gift from them, W and L, always close to my heart (They both wear the same kind of necklace but neither have my initial on it lol)
Charmentity Chain Anchor 45 cm Gold and A-Ö Charm Gold

The Matching Heart Bracelet
This was a Christmas gift from my best friend. Without knowing, I had bought her the same one in silver. It’ became a best friend bracelet by accident, due to our shared ways of expressing infinite love for each other. Our friendship in a nutshell.
The Infinity Knot Earrings
I bought these earrings the day I received my first paycheck from my dream job. The knot symbolizes the way my dreams finally tied themselves into reality. It also stands for everything that led me there: resilience and a deep trust in myself.
The Charm Bracelet
A golden bracelet (Edblad Ivy Chain Bracelet Gold though unfortunately discontinued), gifted by my parents, that has slowly become my most personal piece. It holds three charms so far. Birthstone Charm – A birthday gift to myself, marking the start of my thirties and a new chapter. M Charm – For our two beloved family cats who passed after nearly two decades with us. I miss them every day, but through this charm they are always with me. Sun Charm – A symbol of my favorite place on earth, named after the sun. A gift from my dad. The bracelet will evolve as I do. Every new charm will mark a new chapter that I want to carry with me.

When people ask about my jewelry, they’re not just complimenting an accessory—they’re asking about my family, my best friend, my job, my cats, my favorite place in the world. They’re asking about me. And maybe that’s the real beauty of signature jewelry. Not only in how it sparkles, but in how it tells stories.
Signature Jewelry Gift Ideas
If you’re feeling inspired to gift something meaningful (or treat yourself) here are a few timeless, sentimental pieces to consider. There are so many beautiful ways to make a piece of jewelry truly personal. It could be a birthstone or birth flower, a crystal with a specific energy, or a meaningful date, name, or place engraved. It could be a charm symbolizing something special, or a necklace spelling out a secret word in Morse code. Even matching pieces shared between two people can hold deep meaning.
Here’s some of my favorites: Birthstone Ring, Locket Necklace, Engravable Rectangle Tag Pendant, Birth Flower Bracelet, Signature Ring, Morse Code Necklace, Red Heart Charm, Moonstone Bracelet, Lucky Studs Gold.

Love you lots, Ida.
